About the Event
“You could say the arts are in my blood…”
Razz Purcell grew up around music and art. He decided to pursue a career in music at a young age. He started a band at age 18 with his siblings, and enjoyed almost immediate success. For the next 11 years, the group enjoyed a “roller-coaster ride of late night composing sessions, concert venues and recording studios.”
As touring activity with the band slowed down, Razz decided to attend University so that he could study music in more depth. He studied at Pasadena City College and Cal State Northridge, studying classical voice and composition. Razz calls this period “a fantastic time of exploration and discovery.”
During this time, Razz heard about “an intriguing musical discipline that combined physical fitness with music.”
